Things are kind of, sort of, maybe falling into place for me, finally. School starts on Thursday. I have class two days a week. I should be starting my new job in a couple of weeks and that will make my life a titch less hectic. My girls start next Tuesday, and I still can't believe that Lyric is a sophmore. HOLY CRAP!
I meet with my lawyer next week. Hopefully in a month or so the divorce thing will be done. I just feel like I need things to be finalized and settled. I'm tired of worrying about what Fisher is going to say or do everyday. I know that I will still worry, but at least if the divorce is final, he will know that I'm not coming back and maybe he can move on.
With all the changes, I see lots of stories. And I do intend to share them with you. However, I will probably only post 1-2 times per week. Don't worry, I'm not ignoring you. I'm just focusing on school and my family for a little bit. Besides, pathopysiology is going to kick my butt!

Back To School
Next week is registration week for our school district. All the schools, all week, all at once. Which is hard enough for me, but I feel bad for the families with 3, 4, or 5 kids. You have to pay all registration fees at registration. Who has that kind of money?? Not to mention school supplies and clothes and lunch account money and school pix and yearbooks orders....my head is spinning.
This year, Jazz is the one who is excited about going back to school. Lyric is sooo not into it. But she did have a bad year last year, so I think there's a little stigma from that. She is, overall, doing better. We have gotten her off two of the meds that she was on before. And the doctor is hoping at some point that we can get her off of at least one, if not two more.
Jazz is going into 6th grade. In most places that is middle school. MIDDLE SCHOOL! The thought makes me want to cry. She's my baby. I can't even believe she's old enough to go to middle school. Thank goodness our district has 1st through 6th at the elementary school. It gives me one more year before I have to panic. Which I totally will, because when Jazz goes to middle school, Lyric will be a junior. And being a junior is just one year away from being a senior. And I really, really don't feel old enough to have kids that grown up. Wasn't I just in high school like 5 years ago??
Anyway, I bought notebooks, folders and pencils for the kids. Now I need to break out the list and go get the rest of the stuff. Glue, crayons, markers, paints, etc, etc, etc. Now if I can just get my work/school stuff figured out...Then some of my stress will go away.

Planning...to have no plan
As you all know, things in my life are pretty freakin crazy right now. The "best" (or maybe the worst) thing right now, is that school starts in 3 weeks and I don't have a new job. Let me give you a smidge of backstory. The job I have now (which I love) is Monday through Friday from 8 - 4:30. Period. I'm planning to take two classes this semester. There is not an option to take different sections. The classes are when the classes are. My classes are Thursday from 10-11:50 and 3:30-6:30 (this is the lab) and Friday from 8-10:50. Not bad for class times, however, I can't continue in the current job I have and take the classes that I want.
So about 4 months ago, I started applying for other positions within the health system where I work. Nothing is panning out. Nothing. To add to the stress/drama, my position is posted and we have started interviewing for my replacement. yup. My replacement may be set before I even leave.
I had a nice talk with my manager the other day. She really has been a great supporter of my goal to go back to school, and with all the crap I've had to go through with Fisher. But she also has to look out for her department. I can't fault her for that.
She has put in a good word for me with the manager of the area I have two applications in for, but I just don't know if that's enough. Or if we can make anything happen in three weeks. I just don't know. If the job thing works out, I will have to coordinate the girls after school because I will be working 3 - 12 hour shifts a week. (And I must say, I love, Love, LOVE the idea of this schedule!) But I'll have to make sure Jazz has a ride home when I have to work.

Living a whirlwind sort of life
So much is going on that I've (again) been neglecting the blog. It's bound to happen but I promise I won't go away forever and sometimes I might even have something a bit insightful to share. Here's the basic rundown of now.
I start my first class today. Well, my first class that is considered part of nursing school. Pathopysiology. I'm sure it's going to be fun.*
I start my new job on February 8. I will be floating to several different departments within the hospital. This will be a great position because I will be exposed to a lot and I will learn more than just what school is going to teach me.
My birthday is in one week. Party pix will be forthcoming. I'm looking forward to hanging out with friends and family and just having an overall good time!
*I have been assured that this class is in fact not fun and it's the hardest class of them all but I chose to have a positive attitude!

A, B, C, or D
It's mid term time for most of the Random House. My kids get mid term, quarter, mid term and semester grades. I don't know why we need grade reports every month, but that's what we get. Lyric is having a little trouble with AP algebra. It's the class giving her the most trouble, so it's also the class she is giving the least effort to. Should be the most effort, but when you're 14 and know everything, that's what you get. She's getting A's and B's in all of her other classes. Getting a C in Algebra. Since she has all AP classes, everything is weighted and that C actually is a 3.0 so she could still end up with a very nice GPA for the semester. it's still early so we'll see how it all pans out. As long as I can get her to keep turning in the homework, we are on the right path. I told her it doesn't have to be perfect, but she needs to make the effort to complete it and then turn it in on time. Seems she was too busy with other things at the beginning of the year to turn in homework. Boys maybe?!?
Jazz is loving school and is thinking she might not want to try out for Fine Arts for next year. This is a complete turn around from last year. She's really getting into her groove. Nothing has completely challenged her/stressed her out so far. YAY! She's reading well, doing good in math, and getting concepts in English/Spelling/vocab that she used to struggle with.
I got my first block grade yesterday in my Lit class. Wait,did I even tell you what classes I have this semester?? I have Chemisty (again!) but it's a newer, better, revamped version of the class I had last spring. This class is geared towards allied health majors. It's a step above HS chem, and not as advanced as chem for say, a science major. Anyway, the teacher is great. Knows his stuff but not too informal. Allows time to ask questions and takes the time to explain things a different way if needed. I also have Microbes and Society. This is basically a review/continuation of Microbiology. This class is all online. And finally, I have Non Western Literature since 1900. Sounds lovely, doesn't it. This class is reading books and writing papers. All online. Right up my alley.
So, back to my grades. For the first book in Lit we had to do 4 papers. One about the author, one about the country and two about different aspects of the book. I didn't do so good on the first one of these, but I ended up with a B for this block. Each book is a "block". I'll take a B! In Microbes, we get our grades by unit, so every two weeks she emails us the grade we received on each section (questions, quizzes, discussion, projects). I've been tallying the grade (because I'm like that) and as of the end of unit 2, I have an 89%. That's almost an A! Yay, me! We are half way through unit 3 so I'll have an update on that in a week or so. Going into last night's chem test, I had like and 84%. I'm hoping to maintain that B. I don't think I can pull an A (But I'm trying) but a B will be just fine. I know it's still early. We have 2 plus months left of the semester, but a lot for me is riding on these classes. I wil continue to keep you posted!

When Life Give You Lemons...
buy lemonade ! I created a virtual lemonade stand. You can donate to the Ovarian cancer cause. I'm not entering to win the Electrolux fridge, but you could! I think you can like to that information from my "stand".
The kids are out of school now and it's going to be a busy summer. Lyric is going to be babysitting and volunteering at the hospital. She proved yesterday that she can't really be left alone right now. I won't go into it, because that's not fair to her later one. She made a bad choice, and now I've filled her calendar for summer. We'll see how things go. Since she has 3 weeks of vacation type activities this summer, she'll only have 6-7 weeks at home.
Last night I got my Ipod touch back! I had to reload all of the songs, videos and apps, but it's such a relief to have it back. I also need to reload some CD's so I can get them on there, but at least it's a start. While we were at the store, Lyric was checking out laptops. She decided she wants to get a macbook. With her babysitting money from this summer, she'll be well over half way there, unless she spends it in the mean time. But she's been very good about setting goals and meeting them (IE- paying for NYC)
New York is on the fence again. Everybody has to be willing to put forth some extra money to make it a go. We should know by the end of the month what that outcome will be.
Summer classes started for me over the weekend. I still think it's very funny that my teachers are married. Kind of amusing. Anyway, I'm ahead of the game in math, but we don't get any actually "math" assignments until tomorrow. Up to this point, it's been all orientation type stuff. But I did get 100% on the orientation quiz!
I have homework due Friday for Genetics. I'm half way done, and should be able to finish the rest of it tonight. Interesting class, this Genetics class. I'll keep ya posted.

Tonight Is The Night...
We get our chem tests back. If I didn't get a good grade (ie- pass) I will be dropping the class. Not only that, I think I've decided to quit school. When Fisher and I made the decision three years ago, I didn't know it was going to be so hard or take so long or be so many hoops to jump through to get to the final result.
Lyric is going to be in high school next year, she's going to be busy. Jazz is getting busier all the time too. And there is nothing worse than "mommy, why do you have to go to school?" everytime I leave for class.
There are a couple of other certificate type things I'm interested in: phlebotomy (Lyric would die if she knew I wanted to poke people) and EKG tech. I'm going to keep my eye out for the continuing education class schedule. It should be out in August and that gives me time to figure things out.
Fisher is okay with whatever. He said as long as we have each other, nothing else matters. Yup, that's right. That's why I married him. He knows the right thing to say when I'm about at my wits end.
And I'm not saying that if I got an acceptance letter, I would turn it down, but two out of the three programs require this chem class. So, we'll see how it goes. I'd say pray for me, but really, I believe it will be as it is intended. Good things will happen.
I'll also give you the info on my new blogs. If you can find them, and leave a comment, before I actually post the link, there may be a prize involved!

I've Been Thinking....
those of you that know me well, know that that can be a very scary thing :-) I"ve been thinking about a couple of new things for the blog.
One is a weekly guest. Other blogs do it, and I did have a very nice guest this week, so I thought I could start it as a semi-regular feature. But I don't want it to be a typical "Why did you start your blog/what advice would you give new bloggers" guest spot, so I have to think on that one a little bit more. Maybe I need a Thinking Chair Like this .
The other thing I've been throwing around is a photo blog. I know that my photos wouldn't be as good as some of these but it would still be fun. Everything always seems to be themed and sometimes the randomness of the world is fun. Of course, it would be called Random Photos or something like that.
and the last thing I've been thinking about is school. Do I want to continue?! The hoops you have to jump through to maybe get into a nursing program are crazy. and in the mean time, I'm losing out on things with the family. I missed Lyric's performance at school this week because of school. it's just one performance, but next year she will be in high school and I want to watch her enjoy those year and really get to see her bloom into a wonderful young woman. So, I think instead of pushing so hard and trying to get into "ANY" program, I'm going to focus on the closest one and see what happens. There are other options and maybe it's okay that I'm just a wife, mother, girl scout leader, First aid instructor, secretary and friend.

(no)sleepover
Lyric and Jazz and I went to a mom/daughter "sleepover" last night. Why, oh, why do they call it a sleepover? There's not a lot of sleeping going on. Jazz was up until 11:30, which is 3 hours past her bedtime and two hours past her "I can tolerate almost anything that happens"time. It's way into her "don't even look at me or I will cry hysterically for no reason and you will feel bad" time.
Lyric reconnected with an old friend. I don't know what time they layed down, but it was after 1am.
We are all kind of lazy today, but I did get 92% on my art test...and I finally finished section 8.2 in math. I only have four more sections (which is like 4 more days) one test and the final, and I'm DONE. Whoo, hoo!

Happy Tuesday
I don't know if it's really a happy day, but I'm trying to think positive. Tomorrow is the visitation, and I don't do well with stuff like that. If anybody is crying, I'll cry. Even if I don't know them. It's a really sad flaw of mine.
On a good note, my 101 things list is done. I'll be posting that on my other blog in a few days.
Another good thing is that I should be able to be done with my math class in about a week. I'm going to take one test Thursday. The next one on Monday, and the final the end of next week. That puts me done 3 weeks ahead, and that is a GREAT feeling. After that, I just have to finish up the art class, which is going well. And I'll be working on my next book.

Updates
Hey, all! Thanks for stopping by again. Today is very eventful/informative day, so I'm glad you came!
The link for A Soft Impeachment is probably not working. It's okay. I have temporarily made it private. I promise to let everybody know, via the blog, when it goes live again. I had to do this because I found a few typos and a couple of inconsistent facts that I needed to fix. It should be done this weekend, but again, I'll post here when you can get your copy, because I know that everybody is chomping at the bit to buy my book.
Jazz went back to school today. She was feeling pretty good yesterday afternoon and evening, and may have overdone it, but she got up and got going today. And I didn't get a call from the nurse, so we're good.
School bites. For me, not the girls. I have to take a test by midnight tomorrow over 3 chapters, but only two were assigned, until last night. Good thing I took the initiative to read the chapter anyway. 10 questions, 20 points, 3 chapters- you do the math.
Lyric is trying out for the fall play next week. She's super excited. I really hope that she gets a part but there are less than 20 parts for this particular play. So competition is going to be tough. At least her drama teacher likes her, and the choir teacher loves her voice (they are the ones that decided who gets in.

Happy Belated Birthday..and more
I'm a very bad Rick Springfield fan. I totally flaked on the fact that Saturday was his birthday. TOTALLY. Like, didn't even think about him the whole day. I guess I'll have to stay after the next concert for "detention"...LOL So, anyway, Happy Belated Birthday, Rick Springfield.
Friday night we went to a baseball game. We won and their were fireworks after. Saturday, we took the kids swimming and then I spent 3 hours working on my math homework. That stuff is hard, man! What's funny is Lyric and I are working on some of the same stuff.
Sunday was church and working in the yard and 2 hours of homework. Thena grocery run and laundry.
So even though I was online a lot this weekend (my homework is all online), I didn't even check email or anything. School sure is cutting into my social life. I thought it was the other way around. It sure is for Lyric....and Jazz a little bit too.
Oh, by the way, I changed the template today (in case nobody noticed...LOL. Just think of it as my new school clothes)

So even though I was online a lot this weekend (my homework is all online), I didn't even check email or anything. School sure is cutting into my social life. I thought it was the other way around. It sure is for Lyric....and Jazz a little bit too.
Oh, by the way, I changed the template today (in case nobody noticed...LOL. Just think of it as my new school clothes)

98 and counting...LOL
Okay, so I finally got that pesky link fixed for my new blog. It only took a week. I'd check, it would look good, it would not work. Helps to have ".com" at the end! Oh, boy. Anyway, the link is up now so if you have any suggestions for that blog, let me know.
I also see that Becky updated Zach's blog with a whole bunch of information, so check that one out as well.
Not sure what else to throw out right now. Kinda feeling crazy with it being the end of the semester, Lyric having practices for 2 plays this week and Baby just counting down til summer. I have 2 papers due for my class, plus another test and the final in the next 3 weeks.
Oh, and we still don't have tickets to see Rick Springfield in May. We know it's going to work out, but when, I ask, When? When will we get the tickets we want?? (Actually never, because we want front row and that ain't happenin', but we're open to ANYTHING ON THE FLOOR! ) So, we keep checking.
