One For The Money

Yes, It is finally time.  Janet Evanovich's book "One For the Money" is finally being made into a movie.  I'm a little torn over some of the casting though.  I always thought that Sandra Bullock would have made a terrific Stephanie Plum (main character).  Katherine Hiegl got the part.  I've seen a few pix from the filming and I think she will fit the part well.

Ranger is my favorite guy...and the guy they picked to play Ranger- SMOKIN!  Daniel Sunjata.  Dude, this was the best casting ever!  Morelli is being played by Jason O'Mara.  He doesn't look like my version of Morelli, but maybe he can pull it off.  And Sherri Shepherd is playing Lula.  Well done, Casting director.

This movie doesn't come out until next July, but you can bet that I will be there opening weekend!

In a Book Rut

The other day I joined up with Paperback Swap. I have books to get rid of and thought this would be a great way to get some good stuff myself. So far, it's pretty slow going. Historically, I can read one book per day on vacation, so I need a minimum of 6 books to take on vacation in four weeks. I say a minimum because if I start a book and it sucks, well, I'm not wasting a day reading it. I should bring 6-10 just to cover my bases, I mean days.

I've got a few favorite authors (Janet Evanovich, Barbara Delinksy, JA Konrath, James Patterson) and I've read all their stuff. I need new stuff!

I started a list of books I might want to check out: Perfection by Julie Metz, Home Safe by Elizabeth Berg, Are You there God, It's me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler, and Almost like being in Love By Steve Kluger. By my count, that's only 4.

I need some suggestions, people! I'm open to almost anything except: vampire romances, historical romances, and smutty romances. I prefer fiction to non fiction, but I'm not completely opposed to non fiction.

Got any ideas?? I'm taking suggestions and there may even be a prize/drawing involved for all suggestions.

Have You Ever...

no, this isn't one of those crazy game. Have you ever realized that something was not quite right, but couldn't quite figure out what was wrong/missing/different? I was having that sort of a moment (several times actually) with my keys. They just felt different in my hand. I thought maybe Fisher had taken off extra keys, but nope, they are all still there. Maybe I was just holding them different? Nope. Then, suddenly, it hits me. One of the keychains is missing. I lost my Ranger keyfob thingy. In the real world, not a big deal. In my world, huge deal! I got that keychain when I went to meet Janet Evanovich a few years ago. And Ranger is hot. Okay, on the key chain he's a cartoon hamster, but in the books- wow! So, now I'm bummed because I went to buy another one and the store is closed until 11/28. Okay, I can wait. But I ain't happy about it. I was on the website (www.evanovich.com) looking for the picture to put in here, but I can't find it.(Probably because the store is closed). I can tell you I will buy another one (or two) and I'm almost positive that Kelley will be getting something from that store for Christmas. (she's the one who originally turned me on to Janet). I might even get myself a black Rangeman tee. :-)

Books, Books and Books

Just as a few weeks ago I had the SUPER MOVIE WEEKEND, now I have had the SUPER BOOK WEEKEND. Two of my favorite authors release new books. Janet Evanovich released "Lean Mean Thirteen" and "Hot Stuff" and JA Konrath released "Dirty Martini", plus I received the books that I ordered from www.Bookcloseouts.com. Let me just tell you, I had so many books to read, I wasn't sure where to start. I wanted the Janet books and the JA book to be for vacation, but that is like almost a month away. Yup, you guess it, I read "Lean Mean Thirteen" in a day...and I would do it again. Then I read "Hot Stuff", and started Dirty Martini and one of the book closeout books. Believe it or not, I did get some other stuff done that weekend as well.

Let me tell you about this book close out place. I bought 6 books, 2 of them hard cover, had them shipped to my house (delivered in less than a week) and it cost me less than $20. yes, you read right, LESS that $20 for 6 books, delivered. I think I'm in heaven.

Although, it will be hard to read and right at the same time. Derek and Abbi have come back to visit me and I really think that their story will get told this year. Keep your fingers crossed.

And away we go...

I would say that we are officially starting summer now....I know, I know, it started weeks ago when school got out, or it starts this week (Thursday to be exact), but it feels like summer now. we (meaning I) am starting my list of stuff to do/bring for vacation, and I'm counting down the days. Being that we are going significantly later than usual, I'm REALLY looking forward to it.

I think this is going to be a good summer though. In July, the girls and I are going to see Rick Springfield (and if we went on vacation at the "normal" time this would not be possible), In August, I'm going to see Daughtry at On The Waterfront, and I get to spend a week reading. There's a new JA Konrath coming out, as well as a new Janet Evanovich. My favorite author ever, Barbara Delinsky already put out her book for the year and it was WONDERFUL! Just when you think you know what's going to happen, she twists it up. It's definitely worth a reread.

Okay, a quick update on Zach Garside: He's going HOME today. YEAH!!!! Still doing outpatient therapy but he has improved so well, so quickly, that I have to think all those prayers are working! You can check out his story/updates at www.zachgarside.blogspot.com

That's all for now. C'Ya soon,
Aim
