I'm really good at wanting to try different things, or putting too much on my plate, or not always thinking things through but I've been doing a little soul searching today. Mostly because this math class is kicking my butt! I took it because I wanted to have an associate's degree. I don't need it, because I've already been accepted to nursing school (which I got reregistered for, BTW). And it's HARD. So, I got to thinking, what do I really want? What do I really want to do? What is sooo important that I want to spend my time on it? Here's what I've come up with:
* quality time with the girls, even if that is just sitting down to watch a half hour show per day.
*I want to be a writer. I have several books either done or almost done, so with a little effort, I could have them on Lulu by the end of the summer
*I want to be a nurse. Plans for this are underway.
*raising the girls to be strong, independent, respectful, loving, caring, compassionate people.
*Happiness. I know everybody's happiness is their own. I know what I want and need to make me happy. There is a plan in place, but it's not all up to me. I'm working toward this goal and I would say, within 12-18 months I will be there. More on this will come out later, I'm sure.
*I want the girls to have a good relationship with their dad. I can help facilitate that, but a lot of it is on him. I will support them as much as I can.
*I want to be more organized than I already am. Some may think that this isn't possible, but trust me, there is always room for improvement. I need to take a little time to map out some things (activities, paperwork, etc) and then put the plan into motion.
* I want more family time. My extended family lives about 4 hours away, which isn't really that long of a drive. So, I'm going to work on getting up to see them at least 2 x a year.
I think that's enough goals in place for now. As always, things may get tweaked and changed but it's at least a place to start.
What are your goals and dreams??
Come along for the ride as I muse and ponder and share and sing...okay, really I don't sing. But I do all those other things.

Countdown to Milwaukee- Tomorrow is the big day
I obviously have Rick on the brain.
Last night’s dream was weird. The venue was a combination of MKE and the red rock photos that my friend, Ally, showed me recently and the seats were all the way around the stage. I had somehow gotten a seat close to the front, but I was alone. (My friends apparently were still in the back) and my mom and step dad were there. When Rick came out, I had a great photo op: he saw the camera and stopped to smile for me. As I snapped the photo, my mom ran over, got in the shot and said “did you get it? Did you get it?” I didn’t get it. Then I kept trying to take pix and they were dark, blurry and not of Rick. (Lynn, do you think I have some sort of subconscious issue about my camera? LOL) Anyway, during intermission (I know, I never said it made sense), I went out to the restroom. The stalls were all built into the side of the rock/mountain and to be able to take care of business you had to crawl into a little hole. Needless to say, I didn’t go. I kept thinking I would either get stuck, or the whole thing would collapse on me.
Go ahead, analyze away and let me know what you think of that!
Tomorrow is the big day. I'm as excited about Girls Night Out as I am about the concert. Seriously, if the show got cancelled, I'd still go and still hang out with my friends and still have a good time. Seriously!

The Hidden Meaning of Dreams....
One thing about me is that I truly believe that God has a plan for us. He knows what is going to happen to us. We can only slightly alter our course, but there is an overall plan for us. i know everybody does not agree with me (make your own destiny and all that) and that's okay.
Another thing I believe in is the hidden meaning of dreams. There are tons of books written on the subject and I occassionally try to read the meaning of my dreams. Especially the REALLY REALLY intense and seemingly real dreams.
Last night/early this morning I had a morphing sort of dream. No, I didn't turn into a monster, but there were lots of parts of my life all being tied together. I can't really remember the order, but the high points are:
*It was Sunday morning and I was trying to decide if I should let Jazz sleep in or get her up for church. (in real life this is a no brainer- we get up and go unless we are out of town or somebody is sick)
*prior to this scene, I had gotten into a huge fight with an old friend. maybe past is a better word. We had an argument that was so intense that I RAN AWAY. Through a corn field, around a huge apartment building, into the house in which Jazz was asleep. The crazy thing is I have never had a fight with this friend on any level. Okay, we haven't always gotten along or kept in touch for various reasons, but an all out almost come to blows fight, never.
When my alarm went off this morning, I really thought it was Sunday. But Fisher was there and he's not going to be this Sunday. I had to quickly process. He laughed when I told him I was dreaming it was time to get up for church.
Anyway, if anybody is into analyzing dreams, let me know what you think of the above.
(I hope that everybody else is seeing the blog background as a pretty aqua and pink print. At work it shows up for me a blue page!)
